When did you start your business?
I launched breast dressed in June 2020, during lockdown 1.0. It had been an idea since August 2019, I wanted to create a brand of ethically made in the UK, sustainable garments that were versatile alternatives to fast fashion throwaways. Our collection is designed for all stages of modern mum-hood. They support you throughout pregnancy with your growing bump, they all have subtle and easy breast feeding access and they still look great long after pregnancy meaning they can be worn and loved for many years.
In January 2020 I finally took the plunge and decided to give it a good go! Then Covid happened, but that didn’t stop me, it just meant I needed to re-look at how to do things.
Who inspires you?
My husband (cheesy I know) but he always inspires me and supports me in just going for it! He gives me the confidence to try different things.
What’s your top business tip for getting through the pandemic?
Keep going! I only launched during the pandemic so this is all I know at the moment. I am writing a lot of lists and trying a lot of different things to see what works. I am communicating with my customers a lot through social media and trying to build up a community.
How is your business adapting to change?
I think my changes will come once this pandemic is over, I am hoping to be able to participate in more physical pop ups so I can meet my customers face to face. I miss that level of interaction. I think I will always be adapting and trying new things for my brand, that’s one of the exciting parts! Not knowing where this journey will take me.
What are you looking forward to after the pandemic?
So many things! Meeting my nephew will be the first thing, he was born in Switzerland in October so I can’t wait to be able to travel over there and give him the biggest cuddle! And being able to properly catch up with friends and family and DANCE!!!
