Little Butterfly London – the Ecocert organic-certified skincare brand for mothers and babies, has been voted ‘Best Baby Brand’ at this year’s Beauty Shortlist Mama & Baby Awards, which celebrate the best in natural beauty and wellness.
This year saw an unprecedented number of entries with Covid-19 spurring a surge in demand for natural and organic wellbeing products.
“The demand for natural beauty, baby and household products is accelerating with parents intentionally switching to cleaner and greener products. In turn, we’re seeing a significant increase in plant-based and organic-certified product launches to satisfy this demand,” comments Fiona Klonarides, awards director.
The sponsor and advertising-free independent awards celebrate the most-loved natural baby, beauty, wellness and eco-home products created by ethical brands and tested by experts. This means that parents know that they are getting an expert opinion based solely on a product’s natural credentials and performance.
For 2020, entries poured in from over 16 countries for consideration by a select panel of specialised independent judges including Denise del Russo, New York-based make-up artist and wellness consultant, Holly Spierings, creative director of Australian natural make-up brand Eye of Horus and Katie Hill, co-founder of eco-living magazine My Green Pod, distributed digitally every quarter with The Guardian to six million readers.
“I am delighted that Little Butterfly London has won ‘Best Baby Brand’”, comments Gudrun Wurm, founder of Little Butterfly London. “When I originally set about launching the range, I wanted to create something which could nurture my newborn son’s delicate skin. Having been passionate about skincare since I was young, I embraced the study of organic cosmetics, immersing myself in the world of gentle plant actives and learning about ingredients that can nourish, soothe and protect at all at once. It is wonderful to have so many esteemed industry professionals come together to vote for us!”
