1.When did you start your brand?
I first designed a baby bib in 2013 as I couldn’t find one that worked when I was weaning my daughter. The Long Sleeved Weaning Bib is long to the ankles and has Velcro at the cuffs to prevent juices running down sleeves. With a patent pending, I have gone on to develop more bibs that work for toddlers through to young school age. In 2016 I launched the Messy Little Thing brand and website. My long bibs were designed to create a calm relaxed environment where babies and young kids can explore textures without parents worrying about another job of cleaning stained clothes each night! I get such a thrill when I get a top review and parents say my design has helped make mealtimes easier.
2.Who inspires you?
I am inspired by other entrepreneurial women, such as Molly Gunn, founder of Selfish Mother and FMLY Store, and Anna Whitehouse, A.K.A ‘Mother Pukka’ who is driving flexible working and embracing your post pregnancy.
3. What’s your top business tip?
Prioritise and plan. So much more productive!
4. Where’s your favourite place?
A small village called, Beadnell on the Northumberland coast. It has the most amazing sandy beaches. Perfect place to escape to with my family at the weekend, including our Springer Spaniel.
5. What would be your ideal weekend?
A getaway to the South of France, with my family, good food and wine!
